Looking back on Kimusubikai 2017 by Matti Joensuu

Thankful for the Kimusubikai 2017 It is the thankfulness that I want to share after the very intensive aikido week at aikido forum kishintai and Sports University in Cologne. Kimusubikai 2016 Remember, in March 2016 Endo Seishiro Shihan visited Cologne and held the Kimusubikai Yudansha seminar. The event has been perfectly organized by Matti Joensuu and Gerhard Treffner and it was great honor for us to welcome Aikidoka from all over Europe. The concentrated atmosphere in Keiko as well as the beatiful performences of the NoTalent show has been unique and everyone was deeply moved. We are very happy to welcome all of you next year as Endo Shihan has announced to visit Cologne in 2017 again.

Grattis Vanadis Aikidoklubb

It has been five times since I had the chance to take apart in the Yudansha camp with Endo Shihan organized by Jan Nevelius and Jorma Lyly and the people of Vanadis Aikidoklubb in Stockholm, Sweden. It has been 28 years since Endo Shihan has come first time to Sweden and since then returns every year. The training has always been a pleasure and full of joy by finding new expressions of Aiki. Of course it is Endo Shihan who creates this dense atmosphere by demanding the students again and again to „check themselves“ and „ask themselves why“. Maybe it is the long time history of visits but there is…

Kuribayashi Seminar Report

Thanks to Eric Vanem from Oslo Aikido Klubb and his students, we could meet and practice under the guidance of Kuribayashi Takanori Shihan from Aikikai Honbu Dojo in Tokyo. It was an inspiring seminar with a lot of remarkable teachings like the following: „Remember, we as human beings have all the same potential, also in Aikido. We all have the same amount of bones, muscles or organs for instance. To enfold our full potential we have to clear all layers of rubbish what covers our pure self. Rubbish like knowledge, fear, doubt, ignorance, and so on…“ Congratulations to the people of Oslo Aikido Club and the Norwegian Aikido for a…
